The Part 1 on my blog described mainly how to create the decorations (balls, snowflakes, stars from toilet paper carton or ice cream sticks or pasta and so on). In this second part I would like to show you how those decorations look on the Christmas “tree” and show you the rest of my decorations and the Christmas cards sent to my family.
For these decorations you don’t need anything in particular, the hot glue gun is a must though. Also, some colorful papers from any library shop.
So here are my final decorations 🙂
1. Colorful paper snowflakes
These decorations look complicated, but actually they are fairly easy to make. They are not original at all, I have to admit, you can find many videos on YouTube on how to make them (for example this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tmhFQpruyE), I just love them and had to make at least two this year in Christmas colors. What you need for this is:
- 3 A4 colorful paper per snowflake
- hot glue gun
2. Orange slices wreath
A very simple, but cute wreath. You will need to have some:
- dried orange slices
- small pine cones
- a dried or fresh pine leaf
- some red berries that you can find in any park
- one dried orange star
- one cinnamon stick
- one peanut
3. Christmas cards
I had the most fun creating these cards. Looking for inspiration on the internet or inside myself in order to create a personalized and representative card for the people close to me. These cards are cheap, but I really hope that the creativeness, care and fun I put in them will make them special for the receivers. As you can see, except the colorful paper I used… more paper, thread, aluminium, make up removal pads, colorful wraps from everything I had (chips bags, sweets bags, some Christmas wrap that Decathlon used to deliver some goods – that is where I took the balls from). 4. The Christmas “tree”
Yes, technically it is a “tree”! With 10 twigs, a couple of oranges and some of your own inventions you can create this beautiful warm decoration for your Christmas. It will not be complete without some warm Christmas lights that this time you will need to buy. Hang it in a visible place in your favorite room and admire your own work for days to come.
